These tools calculate from what you enter. They do not supply a coverage rate, assume a number of coats, apply a wastage allowance on your behalf, or diagnose a surface.

We do not supply the coverage figure, the coat count or an allowance. Coverage varies by product, surface porosity, preparation and application method, and is stated on the product. Coat count follows the product system. Allowance depends on surface, application, container sizes, touch-up needs and project conditions. The calculation is shown with the result so you can check it.

Gross wall area is the perimeter times the height. Doors and windows are deducted only where you enter a size. An opening left blank is recorded as unmeasured and is not deducted — no nominal dimension is assumed.

Where damp is visible, the source needs investigating before any coating decision — paint applied over an unresolved moisture source generally fails again.

Which stages actually apply depends on the surface, the existing coating, its condition and the manufacturer’s system for the product chosen. Not every stage applies to every project, and no coat count is universal. This builder records what you want quoted; the final system is confirmed against the surface information and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Records the shade decision and what has actually been checked.

Colours can appear different due to lighting, surrounding finishes, screen display, substrate, sheen and application. Digital colour display is indicative only. Lighting changes how a shade reads, and the existing wall colour affects how a new one looks beside it. Testing a sample on the actual wall, in the actual light, is the only reliable check. Keeping the shade code helps identify the colour for a future purchase, but the same formula does not guarantee an invisible touch-up later — existing coatings, batches, application and ageing all change appearance.
